It will enable you to easily connect your application with a new service without having to learn their specific API. Primarily developed as a new Zend Framework component called ‘Zend_Cloud’, you can use it independently of Zend Framework.

Presently Simple Cloud API provides adapters for Amazon S3, Windows Azure Blob Storage, Nirvanix and Local Storage API. The project is under development and have plans to include more vendors and services in the future.

Following adapters will be available in next few months:

File Storage

  • Rackspace Cloud Files
  • GoGrid Cloud Storage

Document Storage

  • Amazon SQS
  • Windows Azure Queue Storage
  • Local

Simple Queue

  • Amazon SimpleDB
  • Windows Azure Table Storage
  • Local
