Animated Table Sort is a  jQuery plugin that allows you to create tables, which can be sorted based on a particular column. Whenever user clicks on column head to sort the table, data will animate to it new location, giving a nice effect. Another important feature is its ability to sort based on REGEXP matches.

Animated Table Sort plugin enables you to control whether row relationships are maintained, whether it sorts on ASCII or numeric and ascending or descending order. It also cleans up after itself by removing DOM-scripted DIVs created to add animation effect.

TableSorter is a jQuery plugin for turning a standard HTML table with THEAD and TBODY tags into a sortable table without page refreshes. TableSorter can successfully parse and sort many types of data including linked data in a cell.

TableSorter can be easily configured to achieve different effects by passing various options at initialization. TableGear is a MooTools and PHP powered component that let you create highly interactive HTML tables quickly and easily. TableGear adds various features to your tables including sorting, editing, adding rows, deleting rows, keyboard shortcuts, etc.

The TableGear package has two parts: PHP script and MooTools JavaScript. PHP is concerned with fetching data, formatting it, and getting it into an XHTML table. It also handles submitted data, both from AJAX calls and a standard POST, and returns data to the application. MooTools JavaScript handles the client-side functions that make the tables dynamic including sorting, editing and keyboard shortcuts. TableKit is a collection of HTML table enhancements using the Prototype framework. TableKit currently implements row striping, column sorting, column resizing and cell editing using Ajax.

The easiest way to use TableKit is reference the script in your HTML and give you tables appropriate classes: ’sortable’ to activate column sorting (and row striping), ‘resizable’ to activate column resizing, and ‘editable’ to activate cell editing. Overall the script is easily configurable and very well documented. And you can easily style your table using CSS.
