Cloud computing radically alters our thinking about IT. Public cloud service providers offer several benefits over in-house data centers, including so-called "private" clouds. Scarcity evaporates as on-demand resources appear infinite, servers morph into disposable horsepower, and backups lose their fragility.
Eliminating the need to own information processing assets helps improve economics by removing the requirements of meeting certain guaranteed cash flows to recoup sunk costs. Security and control remain possible because they now derive not from ownership and location but from contracts, standards, and confidentiality and integrity protection.
In his session at the 5th International Cloud Expo, Steve Riley, technical evangelist from Amazon Web Services, will explore how to think cloud and maximize the outcome of your investment in public cloud services.

For a cloud to be considered enterprise, it must provide a high-availability solution that accounts for every aspect of an Enterprise IT Infrastructure environment, from development to production including provisioning and maintenance of servers, network, storage, security and software. The value of the enterprise cloud solution is simple: It enables businesses to adapt to the rapidly changing economic and technological environment with speed, excellence and efficiency while reducing the total cost of ownership.
In his session at the 5th International Cloud Expo, Ken Owens, Vice President of Security and Virtualization Technologies at Savvis, will introduce the Virtual Private Data Center concept, which provides the high-availability infrastructure, management, support, and multiple levels of QoS required to optimize the delivery of mission-critical applications in the enterprise cloud

While surfing the web you may have come across websites with images and other multimedia content that, when clicked, were displayed in a floating window that hovered above
the web page. Perhaps it was a page that showed a series of thumbnail images of products for sale, where clicking on a thumbnail displayed the full sized image in a floating
window, dimming out the web page behind it. Have you ever wondered how this was accomplished or whether you could add such functionality to your ASP.NET website?
In years past, adding such rich client-side functionality to a website required a solid understanding of JavaScript and the "eccentricities" of various web browsers. Today,
thanks to powerful JavaScript libraries like jQuery, along with an active developer community creating plugins and tools that integrate with
jQuery, it's possible to add snazzy client-side behaviors without being a JavaScript whiz.
This article shows how to display text, images, and other multimedia content in a floating window using FancyBox, a free client-side library.
You'll learn how it works, see what steps to take to get started using it, and explore a number of FancyBox demos. There's also a demo available for download that
shows using FancyBox to display both text and images in a floating window in an ASP.NET website. Read on to learn more!
